Erik Dekker takes on the role of Al Adaid Desert Challenge ambassador

The former road cycling start form Holland teamed up with the organizing committee of the event. Erik will help promoting the cycling part of the event internationally. He will be available in Qatar on the week of the race and do sand dunes riding workshop with the local riders. He will also do a road ride with local cycling community. The location, and timing will be updated accordingly.

Erik will make posts on the event social media accounts about the proper equipment – which bike to use, what tires and what tire pressure, the rough training plan before the race, some nutrition tips and so on. He will also be available to reply to questions participants might have.

Although Erik finished his professional career more then 10 year ago, he still managed to win last year’s UCI leg of the Al Adaid Desert Challenge and set a new best time on the 38,5 km course with impressive time of 1h11m39s.
